Big|Brave announce new album, nature morte
Big|Brave have announced a new album. On February 24, the Montreal drone-metal group will release nature morte via Thrill Jockey. The first song they’ve shared from the album is titled “carvers, farriers, and knaves.” Hear it below.
A press release states that the album “tackles the folly of hope, the consequences of trauma, and often centers on the subjugation of femininity in all its pluralities.” The group’s vocalist Robin Wattie said, “It is violent and terrible. It is crushing and alarming. It is common and basic. It is catastrophic and disheartening.”
Last year, Big|Brave released Vital, as well as their collaboration with The Body, Leaving None But Small Birds. It was one of our favorite albums of 2021.
