billy woods and Kenny Segal announce new album, Maps
The Vinyl Factory points out that billy woods and Kenny Segal are teaming up again on a new album. After previously collaborating on the 2019 album Hiding Places, the rapper and producer will be delivering a new album together, Maps, which will be released via Backwoodz on May 6.
“Neither of us wanted to make Hiding Places 2. We needed to go on other journeys, artistic and otherwise, to come back and do something fresh,” woods said in a statement.
“I think we both like to paint a picture,” Segal added. ”Him with words, and me with sound.”
No music has been shared from the album as of yet, nor has a tracklist, but that’s the album’s artwork above.
Since Hiding Places, woods has released last year’s Aethiopes, which we named album of the year, as well as its follow-up, Church. He also released two albums with Armand Hammer, 2020’s Shrines and 2021’s Haram, as well as a collaborative album with Moor Mother, BRASS.
