Black Thought announces autobiography, The Upcycled Self
Black Thought has announced he’s releasing an autobiography. On November 14, the veteran emcee and frontman of The Roots will release The Upcycled Self via One World. The book covers the entirety of Black Thought aka Tariq Trotter’s life, beginning with his childhood house burning down, on up through “other trials and tribulations,” per a press release, and eventually up to when he met Questlove and formed The Roots.
The press release continues, “It culminates as he reaches the doorstep of his stardom, giving readers the most intimate look at his come up yet.”
Black Thought recently released Glorious Game, his collaborative album with El Michels Affair, which is on our list of the Best Albums of 2023 So Far. Last year he released Cheat Codes with Danger Mouse. It was one of our Top 50 Albums of 2022.
