Brian Eno 1998 live album

On August 27, 1998, Brian Eno performed live with J. Peter Schwalm and Can‘s Holger Czukay outside the Kunst-und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Bonn, Germany. The performance was part of an exhibition of Eno’s Future Light-Lounge Proposal installation. And for the 25th anniversary of that event, Grönland Records has announced it will be releasing a live album of that performance, SUSHI! ROTI! REIBEKUCHEN!, which will be out on April 12, 2024.

Tracklist and pre-order info haven’t yet been released but the album will be available on vinyl, CD and digital formats. It will comprise excerpts of a three-hour improvised performance, which also includes Raoul Walton and Jern Atai from Schwalm’s group Slop Shop. The show was also one of the earliest internet live streams.

Later this year, Eno is embarking on his first ever solo tour. Two of his albums are featured on our list of the 150 Best Albums of the 1980s.
