De La Soul Is Dead review

De La Soul‘s catalog is finally being put on streaming services. The band says that their classic catalog of Tommy Boy albums will be released digitally on March 3, including 3 Feet High and Rising, De La Soul Is Dead, Buhloone Mindstate, Stakes Is High, and AOI: Bionix, through a partnership between group member Maseo’s label AOI and Reservoir. “It’s been 20 plus years overdue, but finally, we are here,” Maseo said in a press release. Watch an announcement video below.

The group are also releasing physical reissues of the albums after long being out of print, starting with 3 Feet High on March 3. The group had initially planned to bring their albums to streaming services in 2019, but that fell through after disputes with Tommy Boy, which De La Soul said involved an exploitative contract.

De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising is featured on our list of the 150 Best Albums of the 1980s.
