Floating Points has released a new single. Today, Sam Shepherd releases “Birth4000,” which has been a part of his live sets over the last year. He’s officially released the audio digitally today via Ninja Tune, and it’ll also be released as a limited edition white-label 12-inch on November 3. It follows recent singles such as “Vocoder” and “Someone Close,” and it’s a high-energy disco/house banger that pulses with big, buzzing synthesizer arpeggios with a heavy influence from Giorgio Moroder. It’s wildly fun. Hear it below.

Two years ago, Floating Points released his full-length collaboration with the late jazz legend Pharoah Sanders, Promises. It was featured on our list of the 50 Best Albums of 2021.
