Sunn O))) recently announced a new live album, Metta, Benevolence. BBC 6Music: Live on the Invitation of Mary Anne Hobbs, which is out November 26 via Southern Lord. Today they’ve shared a new excerpt from “Pyroclasts F,” which features Anna Von Hausswolff on vocals. It’s at once massive and meditative, beastly and gorgeous, with traces of choral music and darkwave in the vein of Dead Can Dance. Pyroclasts was Sunn O)))’s last album, released in 2019, which consisted of “rehearsal jams” (though none of them were titled “Pyroclasts,” curiously).
