Hear the new song from billy woods and Kenny Segal, “FaceTime,” featuring Samuel Herring of Future Islands

Last month, billy woods and Kenny Segal announced the details of Maps, their second collaborative album, which is due out on May 6 via Backwoodz. Today, they’ve released the first new music from the album, “FaceTime,” featuring Samuel Herring of Future Islands. Hear it below.

Herring said in a statement about the collaboration, “It was late summer 2022 and most days I was stuck in my hotel room wondering what was happening with my life,” the singer said. “All of that being on the road and living remotely, feeling alienated, alone, missing people back home, but also feeling at home living that way—I understood it deeply…. That song is my life and I was living in it.”

Since Hiding Places, woods has released last year’s Aethiopes, which we named album of the year, as well as its follow-up, Church. Both woods and Herring appear on the new album by Algiers, SHOOK.
