John Carpenter shares eerie “The Shape Returns” from Halloween

By: Treble staff

On October 19, Sacred Bones is releasing the soundtrack to the latest Halloween film, and today, John Carpenter has shared a new track from the album. Titled “The Shape Returns,” the new piece from the score incorporates the main theme of the original film into a creepy, atmospheric and synth-heavy piece that retains the horror vibes of the original with even more of a contemporary atmosphere.

Halloween follows John Carpenter’s Lost Themes and Lost Themes II.

John Carpenter tour dates:

10/10: Amsterdam, NL – Tivolivredenburg Grote Zaal
10/11: Paris, FR – Salle Pleye
10/13: Barcelona, ES – Auditorium Sitges
10/14: La Rochelle, FR – La Sirene
10/16: London, UK – Eventim Apollo
10/18: Newcastle, UK – Tyne Theatre
10/19: Glasgow, UK – Barrowlands
10/21: Manchester, UK – Albert Hall
10/31: Los Angeles, US – Palladium

John Carpenter’s score for the original Halloween is on our list of the Top 40 Film Scores.
