Lost Girls, the electronic collaboration between Jenny Hval and Håvard Volden, have announced a new album. On October 20, they’ll release their sophomore LP Selvutsletter via Smalltown Supersound. The announcement follows the release of the group’s recent single, “Ruins,” which they’ve followed with another new track, “With the Other Hand,” which was inspired by Leonard Cohen. Hear it below.

“The result was a structure of verse and chorus, a pop song whispering about someone’s mysterious journey through a street, a building, and a stage,” the duo said in a statement. “The chorus goes like this: ‘With the other hand I open rooms / With the first one I write,’ describing two parts of something – a creative process, or two parts of the unconscious. Or perhaps the two hands describe Lost Girls themselves. One opens rooms, the other writes.”

Jenny Hval’s last album was 2022’s Classic Objects. It’s featured on our list of the 50 Best Albums of 2022.
