Last month, the Polaris Prize revealed its long list of 40 albums up for the award this year. The Polaris Prize, which awards the best Canadian album of the year, has just announced its shortlist of 10 final nominees. The Polaris Prize shortlist includes Alvvays’ Antisocialites, Daniel Caesar’s Freudian, Hubert Lenoir’s Darlene, Jean-Michel Blais’ Dans ma main, Jeremy Dutcher’s Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, Partner’s In Search of Lost Time, Pierre Kwenders’ MAKANDA, Snotty Nose Rez Kids’ The Average Savage, U.S. Girls’ In A Poem Unlimited, and Weaves’ Wide Open. Artists on the longlist that were cut from the final nominees include Arcade Fire, FRIGS, Yamantaka // Sonic Titan, and more. The winner this year will be announced at the annual Polaris Prize Gala on September 17.
