Signature Brew to release Mastodon Black Tongue Double IPA
Beer and metal go great together — everyone knows this. And it’s an increasingly prominent trend to see metal bands be honored with their own namesake beers. Motörhead, Pig Destroyer and Red Fang have all had their names on beer labels, and now Mastodon is the latest in line to have their own beer. On Dec. 3, Signature Brew will start shipping Black Tongue, a double IPA brewed in collaboration with Mastodon, and named after the leadoff track on their 2011 album The Hunter.
It’s described as smoky and hoppy, and has an ABV of 8.3 percent. So, a couple of these will get you good and sloppy.
