Stream the new Ryan Adams album
On Sept. 9 (that’s next week!), Ryan Adams will release his self-titled follow-up to 2011’s Ashes and Fire, via Pax Am/Blue Note. We’ve already had a taste of the first single, “Gimme Something Good,” but now, on this Labor Day holiday, we’re being treated to the full album via NPR First Listen. Ryan Adams is much more cohesive than any of Adams’ most recent albums — including 2007’s Easy Tiger and 2008’s Cardinology — and reflects Adams’ maturation as an artist. He’s now sober and married, and the album reflects this healthier place that he’s in now.
