Kvelertak announce new album Nattesferd
Kvelertak are returning with new music in 2016. On May 13, the Norwegian metal/hardcore band will release Nattesferd via Roadrunner. That’s the album’s artwork above. The first track to be released from the album is “1985,” a big, anthemic hardcore track that features the band’s trademark arena rock power and blistering metal intensity.
Here’s what the band said about the track, via NPR:
Think of George Orwell’s 1984 instead of Taylor Swift’s 1989. Its lyrics depict a cold and (not so) distant future where technology and surveillance have erased all forms of individuality and critical thinking. Needless to say, everything was better before — can somebody hit the rewind button already?
Listen to Kvelertak’s “1985” stream below, along with a list of updated tour dates. Nattesferd follows 2013’s Meir.
