Ride reunion is official, band touring in 2015
It’s a good week to be a fan of classic shoegaze. First, SXSW announces that one of the performers this year is Swervedriver, and now, Ride has officially announced their reunion. The pioneers of shoegaze have been posting up their logo around Barcelona recently (as you can see in the tweet below from Time Out Barcelona), which squares with their tour plans — they’re performing at Primavera Sound in 2015.

Ride hasn’t performed together since initially breaking up in 1996 after the release of their final album, Tarantula. The group was responsible for a number of highly influential shoegaze records, including their 1990 debut, Nowhere. Their last release was the 2003 BBC Recordings compilation, titled Waves.
