Marvel Comics reveal Run the Jewels comic book covers
Run the Jewels have been involved in some cool and sometimes hilarious promotional campaigns to coincide with their latest album Run the Jewels 2 (our No. 1 album of 2014). There was the Tag the Jewels, their graffiti project, and Meow the Jewels, their cat remix album. And now, Run the Jewels’ gun-and-fist logo is being featured on two Marvel Comics covers. Rolling Stone reports that Howard the Duck #2 (above) and Deadpool #45 (below) will come with variant covers in which the characters are posing a la the Run the Jewels cover art.
“I knew it was happening potentially,” Killer Mike says in the Rolling Stone article, “but when it came all the way through, I was dancing around the room in my Polo underwear.”
Marvel editor-in-chief Alex Alonso was inspired by the Tag the Jewels project, and his son is apparently a fan. Take a look at the Deadpool cover below.
