Dâm-Funk – “We Continue”
Damon Riddick, the artist, songwriter and funkmeister behind L.A.-based synth-funk project Dâm-Funk, has just released a brand new video for his latest single, “We Continue,” from upcoming album Invite the Light. The clip is a dark, night-time video that features Riddick taking a drive around Los Angeles, with city lights looming in the distance, through heavy layers of fog and smoke. He also sings and plays some mean keytar in that layer of fog and smoke, so there’s some of that happening too. While the video certainly has a much better quality than most of what was released in the 1980s, it has a similar vibe as some of the early-MTV clips, like Prince’s “Little Red Corvette” or Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You.” I’d say they don’t make them like this anymore, but Dâm-Funk just did. Watch the Dâm-Funk “We Continue” video below.
Invite the Light will be released on Sept. 4.
