Natalie Prass has been doing a heavy bit of touring in support of her most excellent debut album, and of late she’s been playing shows opening for Ryan Adams (who also released his own great self-titled album last year). But there was a bit of a snag last night when Prass was forced to cancel her show in Copenhagen with Adams, when her flight ended up being canceled. So Adams, showman and goofball of the highest order, took it upon himself to open for himself as “Natalie Sass,” and played a full set of Natalie Prass songs. Now that is commitment.
Adams has covered Prass at other shows before this one, just like he did with Jenny Lewis’ “She’s Not Me” on his fall tour with her. (Prass is also a member of Lewis’ band, just to tie this family tree all back together.)
Watch a video of Adams playing Prass’ “Bird of Prey” below, along with some tweets about the situation from Adams.
