Bandcamp Friday

Because of the toll that the Covid-19 pandemic is having on musicians and retailers, Bandcamp has announced that this Friday it will be waiving its revenue share on all purchases.

Co-founder and CEO Evan Diamond says in a statement, “For many artists, a single day of boosted sales can mean the difference between being able to pay rent or not. Still, we consider this just a starting point. Musicians will continue to feel the effects of lost touring income for many months to come, so we’re also sharing some ideas below on how fans can support the artists they love and how artists can give fans new, creative ways to provide support.”

So if you’ve been thinking about buying that album you’ve streamed a few times, this would be a great time to do it. And if you’re looking for suggestions, we have recommendations.

Here’s a list of bands that had to cancel all their upcoming tour dates.

Here are our favorite albums of February.

Here are our favorite albums of January.

And we always have plenty of Album of the Week suggestions.
